The Air France Foundation celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2022, organizing a series of events around the world highlighting its commitment to improving the living conditions ofunderprivileged or disabled children.
While it announced for 2023 the expansion of its actions towards “sustainable development projects and awareness of environmental challenges”, the Foundation returned to the “moments of sharing and solidarity” made possible this year by the mobilization of the volunteers-employees of the French national company, present at all stops. Throughout the summer, children followed by partner associations were able to live unique experiences:
At the airport of Paris-Charles de Gaulle120 children from the Envol Association (which notably organizes stays or tailor-made activities for sick children and their families) were able to follow a backstage tour of the first French airport and discover a Airbus A350-900 of Air France with the French astronaut Thomas Pésquet.
To Antananarivo (Madagascar), the Air France Foundation celebrated its anniversary alongside the children of the association Akamasoa during a popular gathering organized by Father Pedro. Founded by the latter, this association has been supported by the Air France Foundation for many years. It acts in particular for the social reintegration of the poorest, access for all to sustainable material conditions, and access to healthcare.
To Dakar (Senegal), where the Foundation has historically been very active, Anne Rigail, Managing Director of Air France and President of the Foundation, took part in a celebration of the thirtieth anniversary in the presence of Mrs. Ndeye Saly Diop, Minister for Women, the Family and Protection of Children in Senegal, Mr. Philippe Lalliot, French Ambassador, as well as an Air France crew comprising volunteers within the association children’s empire. This association works for the social reintegration and care of child victims of violence. Many partner associations of the Foundation were also there.

The end of 2022 was also marked by several festive and solidarity moments: the Foundation presented the results of a series of works carried out in the Commandant Sanon school, in Abidjan (Ivory Coast). Thanks to the work carried out since 2007 with the association Learn Ivory, this establishment can now welcome children safely and in appropriate sanitary conditions. HAS Fort de Francein support of associations Kiwanis and Adapeithe Air France Foundation contributed to festive and cultural encounters between a crew of Foundation ambassadors, accompanied by journalist Eglantine Eméyé, and nearly 200 children with disabilities, illnesses or in precarious situations.
Finally, at Roissy, “in a magical atmosphere”, 120 children watched Father Christmas get off the plane at the initiative of the Greater Roissy Actors Club. The Air France Foundation also offered gifts in the capital ordered from Santa Claus by underprivileged children supported by the Fondation des Apprentis d’Auteuil.
Since its creation, the Air France Foundation has supported more than 1500 projects “supported by associations whose expertise and local roots are decisive. It has intervened concretely in all areas that can make a difference in the lives of children in difficulty: education, social and professional integration, cultural development or sports and artistic activities”. Backed by the 500 ambassadors mobilized at all Air France stations, the Foundation acts “as closely as possible to the daily environment of children, in order to have a direct and significant impact. It is based on the proximity of the company’s employees to the field and their knowledge of the players, a guarantee of the effectiveness of the actions supported”.
