Those who compete for the jackpot

There are eight television series seeking the award for Best Drama Series, where one of them already has the honor of being the most watched series in the history of Netflix, with more than 1.65 billion hours played: “The Squid Game ” (“Squid Game”), which follows a group of people willing to risk their lives in order to win a lot of money.

Also from Netflix are the series nominated “Ozark”, where a family is dedicated to laundering money from drug trafficking; as well as “Stranger Things”, which in its fourth season reached unprecedented levels of popularity. There is also the first half of “Better Call Saul” season 6, on AMC in the US, but on Netflix in the rest of the world; where New Mexico’s most talented attorney faces his greatest challenge.

In the same category HBO has two competitors: “Euphoria”, a raw and violent vision of adolescence; and “Succession”, which in its third season shows the more sinister side of an ambitious family of tycoons. Finally there are “Severance” from Apple TV +, a dystopia about working life; and Showtime’s “Yellowjackets,” which charts the psychological wounds of a group of female plane crash survivors as schoolchildren.
