MILENA – Today, 19 September the educating community of Milena in its three levels of school – “Rodari” kindergarten, “San Giovanni Bosco” primary school and “Luigi Pirandello” 1st grade secondary school -, which are part of Comprehensive Institute “Puglisi” of Serradifalco, Milena and Montedoro, in the presence of the head teacher Dr. Valeria Vella, wanted to celebrate the beginning of the new school year. In the joy and enthusiasm, the event was held in the name of hospitality, a smile and the desire of all to be a fundamental point for the growth and development of the Milanese and Bompensier area, through the didactic-educational care of the pupils with the involvement of families, citizens and lay and religious institutions of the territory, for the common good. The words of the director Vella, wanted to emphasize this synergy that must exist between the educational institution, local, religious and lay administrations: “Scholastic learning is intentional learning, marked in well-defined times and spaces, and is the result of a multiplicity of actors: teachers, students, families, learning environments, institutions, the territory, the synergy of which determines their greater or lesser success “. The manager then recalled that “we are at the beginning of a new school year, in the name of a newfound normality. We spent two long and difficult years, marked by the COVID epidemic with consequent school closures, strict rules to be respected, distance learning and masks and all this took away so much from everyday life and being a school, depriving us of one of the most important aspects of school, socialization “. The message that the headmaster and the teachers of all three school orders wanted to forward to everyone is a message of hope and trust: hope that we can continue to work together in mutual respect, trust in parents and in secular and religious institutions. , so that everyone, respecting their roles and tasks, cooperates for the education of students with passion, patience and dedication. In addition to the greetings and best wishes of the head teacher, the inauguration of the school year saw a succession of different moments: the greetings and best wishes from the teachers of the three school levels, who reminded the students of their being citizens of the tomorrow, and that “only thanks to their contribution will it be possible to build a better world and a more just society”; the blessing of the backpacks and the school year by the archpriest of Milena, Don Luca Milia; the throwing of balloons by primary and childhood pupils; the greeting in languages of some students, to remember the international aspect of the didactic offer, open to Erasmus + projects. Don Luca Milia recalled that “the beginning of a new school year, although it contains, like every beginning, many expectations, dreams, hopes and sometimes even worries, it is certainly an important moment, not only for students and for teachers, but also for the whole community. The opening of schools is an event that involves families and children, which marks the rhythms of life. Returning to the school desks, to the “house of the study” as it is called by the Jewish brothers, means putting friendships and acquaintances back into circulation, forging social ties. To some extent it means regaining possession of the deeper meaning of being a community ”. Dreams, hopes and worries that the pupils entrusted to the cross of Christ, writing their thoughts on post-its which were then attached to a cross.
