More than 9 thousand schoolchildren will participate in the recycling campaign

Lima.- Developing the habit of recycling in boys and girls will allow us to have an increasingly cleaner Peru and that is why, this year, within the framework of the Recicla Consciente campaign, Entel, PlazaVea, Vivanda, Makro, Nestlé, Innova Schools , Tetra Pak, Faber Castell and Pamolsa come together to carry out the “Conscious Recycle Arrive at School” initiative, in which more than 9,600 schoolchildren will participate by recycling paper, cardboard, plastic, Tetra Pak® containers and Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment ( WEEE).

“Conscious Recycling Arrives at School” is an inter-school contest that seeks to promote environmental awareness in the Peruvian school community through a reusable waste collection competition. On this occasion, the alliance with Innova Schools will allow 26 schools to participate in the contest.

“We believe that it is important to strengthen environmental awareness, from the school stage, through recycling in the equation: reduce, reuse and recycle, as part of a way of living. For this reason, we constantly seek to support and create initiatives oriented towards this vision and seeking to be part of a responsible transformation of society,” said Rosa Bonilla, Entel’s head of Reputation Management and Sustainable Development.

The classroom that collects the greatest number of recyclable materials will receive a trip to the RecicloPlast recycling plant in Pamolsa and the 10 students who collect the most will receive a surprise prize provided by Entel; In addition, the venue that recycles the most will get a trophy and recycling containers from Entel and Tetra Pak. In the case of classroom promoters, they will receive a pack delivered by Nestlé.

“We want our students to be agents of change with a clear commitment to environmental conservation. In this sense, efforts such as the one proposed by the Conscious Recycle campaign are aligned with our educational proposal and with the future of society that we promote from Innova Schools”, said Daniel Duharte, CEO of the educational institution.

It is important to highlight that the Conscious Recycle campaign is a national movement in favor of recycling that unites companies, municipalities, recyclers and citizens. It has four lines of action: promotion of environmental citizenship, management of recycling points, formation of alliances with recyclers, and research into recycling habits.

“The Conscious Recycle campaign is a valuable example of how joining efforts between different actors can protect the environment. From Tetra Pak we are delighted to support the training of young people committed to caring for the environment and society,” said Mónica Montes, Tetra Pak Peru’s Sustainability Manager.

“At Nestlé we have the purpose of sharing all the power of food to improve the quality of life today and for future generations and, in this line, we have been working in a sustained manner in alliance with Recicla Consciente. We recognize the importance of this initiative and of working together to promote habits in favor of caring for the environment, especially among Peruvian children,” says Javier León, head of Marketing, Consumer Communications and Corporate Affairs

“This year, from Recicla Consciente, we decided to bet on promoting recycling in future generations together with our great allies. We know that the habits you adopt today will impact your families and the future of the country. Our commitment is to accompany them on that path to change,” said Micaela Cortés, assistant manager of Sustainability at Super Food Holding, a company that brings together plazaVea, Vivanda and Makro.

The results of the competition will be revealed on November 28, the date on which the winning venue and the amount collected will be known. It is estimated to collect more than two tons of usable waste.
