During the Second Departmental Meeting of Rectors 2022, the Ministry of Education held the second Departmental Roundtable for Monitoring the School Feeding Program – PAE CREA in the department in which it reported on 2022 and what is coming for 2023.

In which it was learned that more than 160 thousand children and adolescents benefit from this program; The investment for 2022 was more than $103 billion and for 2023 it will be more than $130 billion.

“It was a very satisfactory day accompanied by control entities such as the Attorney General’s Office, the Comptroller’s Office and the Ombudsman’s Office, in which it was possible to demonstrate that Boyacá continues to be a national example for the provision with permanence, continuity and quality,” said the Secretary of Education, Elided Ofelia Paipa boy.

He added that the department is being prioritized for 2023 by the World Bank and by the Dispersed Rurality Program of the Ministry of Education, to be part of a project that seeks to guarantee school permanence by the National Government to be included in the Plan Development as a food security program where children are expected not only to receive food in schools, but also at home during non-school hours.

“Boyacá has two characteristics that make it unique in the country, first that it does not focus on children, but rather applies food to all those who are enrolled in the Integrated Registration Information System -SIMAT-. And second, that more than 99% is hot ration food and they are also given a food supplement in the morning and on the single day, ”said the official.

For his part, the deputy director of PAE, Edilson Soler, reported that 164,221 boys, girls, youth and adolescents have received a food supplement, which contributes to learning.

With an investment of $103,789,435 by 2022, the Government of Boyacá, together with contributions from the Nation and the municipalities, reaches the 123 municipalities of the department, granting a food supplement, whether it is a ration prepared on site such as lunch, a food supplement /pm or the industrialized ration that is only delivered in emergencies.

For 2023, an investment of $130,342,921 is projected, thus guaranteeing school feeding for next year.
“We thank all the actors of the program, such as the Ministry of Health, mayors, municipal representatives, rectors, teachers, operators, manipulative personnel, parents, citizen oversight, and all our students, with whom we continue to advance for food quality school and that is pride for all Boyacenses”, they pointed out.
