While the sector remains in tension despite a first campaign at the start of the year, the Region wants to anticipate in order to “prepare the future of the liO school transport network”. Objective: recruit 470 new drivers.

“Funded training, guaranteed employment”: this is the slogan of the new information campaign launched by the Occitanie Region to recruit 470 new coach drivers. In January 2022, after consultation with professionals and transporters in Occitania, an initial information campaign had enabled the recruitment of more than 1,000 drivers, thus making it possible “to ensure the start of the school year in good conditions” according to the Region.

Today, faced with the persistence of recruitment difficulties, it is renewing the operation in order to anticipate and prepare for the future of the liO school transport network. The passenger transport sector is indeed facing recruitment difficulties which have increased in recent months.
