In follow-up to the seventh phase of the Operational Plan of the Children and Youth Consultation 2021 (CIJ) regarding the systematization, socialization and articulation of agendas derived from the results, the Local Executive Board of the National Electoral Institute in Guerrero, through the Vocal of Electoral Training and Civic Education, teacher Esteba Rafael González Vargas, held four workshops feedback, dialogue and analysis of results with children and adolescents for the formulation of care agenda proposals.
It is worth mentioning that the importance of this activity is to continue with the general orientation of the ICJ 2021, which seeks to overcome the adultcentrism and put the expression of girls, boys and adolescents at the center in the Consultation, ensuring that they are the ones who formulate concrete and identifiable proposals for the institutions, organizations and adults, in order to articulate a care agenda for the exercise of the rights of the child and youth population.
In this way, the first workshop was held on October 10, 2022, at the “Licenciado Benito Juárez” Elementary School, located in the town of Piedra del Tigre, municipality of Ometepec, Guerrero, where the analysis was carried out with the group age group from 6 to 9 years old, with an attendance of 14 girls and 4 boys.
In this same situation, the second workshop was held on October 12, 2022, at the “General Antonio Caso” High School, located in the city of Iguala de la Independencia, Guerrero, working with the age group from 10 to 13 years old, with an attendance of 18 girls and boys.
The third workshop was held on October 18, 2022, in the “Pablo Neruda” Kindergarten, located in the town of Pochahuizco, Zitlala, Guerrero, where they worked with the age group from 3 to 5 years, with an attendance of 30 girls and boys.
The fourth workshop was held on November 4, 2022, at the Preparatory Academic Unit No. 36 of the Autonomous University of Guerrero, located in the municipality of Zumpango del Río, Guerrero, working with the age group from 14 to 17 years, with an attendance of 37 adolescents.
The final objective of the workshops is for girls, boys and adolescents participating in the ICJ 2021 to present their proposals in an informed and structured manner, so that they have weight and achieve their effect by taking them to the deliberation tables that will be held with adults in the months of November and December 2022.
It should be remembered that, in November 2021, the ICJ 2021 was held throughout the country, with the theme “Caring for the planet, well-being and Human Rights”; exercise aimed at everyone between the ages of 3 and 17, with the participation of 6,976,839 girls, boys and adolescents from all over the country, and even from other countries.
In the state of Guerrero, the total participation was 176,773 people. According to the 2020 Population and Housing Census, carried out by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), this participation is equivalent to 16.99% of 1,040,337 girls, boys and adolescents from 3 to 17 years of age who live in Guerrero.
