A week of events organized to commemorate the anniversary of the UN convention on the rights of children and adolescents, the one that takes place with the event “Bimbi in Festa”scheduled in Ferrara from Monday 14 to Sunday 20 Novemberdedicated to children and families and promoted for the second year by the Municipal Department of Education.
The appointments are scheduled in various places in the city: from public spaces such as the Estense Roomthe Music Hallthe Civic Museum of Natural History And “Biagio Rossetti” Houseto the offices of some educational services that represent the reference point for Ferrara families including the Center for Families ei Children’s and Family Centersthe Polo for children “Gobetti”and the municipal libraries “Tebaldi”, “Niccolini”, “Luppi” And “Rodari”.
The initiative was presented on Friday 11 November in the municipal residence of Ferrara by the municipal councilor for Public Education and Policies for the Family Dorota Kusiakby the head of Childhood and Family Services of the Municipality of Ferrara Cinzia Guandaliniby the head of the School Services and Relations with the Territory of the Municipality Donatella Mauroand by the president of the Unesco Club Ferrara Ugo De Nunzio. “I thank all those present and the staff of the educational services and municipal libraries who collaborated in the drafting of this project – underlined the commissioner Kusiak – which for the second year wants to highlight this important anniversary in the field of educational, school and family policies. The path does not end here, but will involve all schools and all services with conferences and insights “.
“Bimbi in festa” consists of a series of events for children and families that are held in different places in the city. The proposals focus on children and their rights through the use of different languages adapted to the age of children and young people and their families. The rich program includes numerous games and entertainment proposals for children from 0 to 10 years with artistic and musical workshops, readings and narrations also in a foreign language, screenings of animated films and artistic activities for children and parents together.
For older kids, the week will be inaugurated, Monday 14 November at 9.30 in the Estense Room with an event promoted by the Unesco Club of Ferrara aimed at numerous classes of comprehensive citizens’ institutions (Leopardi, A. Costa, Guarini, MM Boiardo, De Pisis and C. Tura) in which the publication will be presented “Convention on the Rights of Childhood and Adolescence” illustrated by the students of the Dosso Dossi artistic high school and addressed some important and still very current issues in the lives of children, such as privacy and the use of social media.
There will be events dedicated to families, to address issues such as breastfeeding, bonds and families today and on how to accompany our children in managing their emotions with “Growing up happy does not mean always smiling” by and with Alberto Pellai on the evening of Friday 18 November, at 9 pm in the Music room (via Boccaleone 19, Ferrara).
