Castellammare di Stabia, the first edition of the International Sport Film Festival is underway

Will be held from 6 to 10 December 2022 in Castellammare di Stabia the first edition of the International Sport Film Festival, a film festival dedicated to sports projects. The International Sport Film Festival is organized by the Pragma Association and was created with the aim of enhancing the cinematographic works on sport and to create a driving force for the territory, so that the healthy values ​​of sport can spread strongly among young people. The achievement of this second objective passes through the involvement of the schools of Castellammare di Stabia and the surrounding area, which are responding with great enthusiasm to the organisation’s invitation.

The direction of the festival is entrusted to Nicola D’Auria, film producer and journalist, and Ciro Sorrentino, director and director of photography, while the jury is made up of experts in the film industry, sports and teachers and school administrators.

The International Sport Film Festival will take place in two phases: the first foresees school mornings in the two initial days, while the second phase, which will take place every afternoon, is dedicated to all the works in competition. In the school mornings of 6 and 7 December there will be moments of confrontation between students and sportsmen involved.

“We believe that such a well-formed jury can bring out the real values ​​associated with sport.” Thus, Nicola D’Auria, who then adds “It will be a moment of growth, a moment in which young people will be able to deal with great sportsmen and understand their lifestyle” regarding the participation and involvement of sportsmen with a glorious past and active .

“The documentaries were selected keeping in mind the artistic and production qualities, but above all the message they intend to convey”, adds Ciro Sorrentino, and then concludes by saying that “the worldwide participation was massive and sportingly varied”.

Every afternoon, from 6 to 10 December, at the Stabia Hall Complex, it will be possible for all those who come to watch the films in competition both in the cinema halls and in the Cinema Corner, which will be located in the hall of the structure.

It will be a Castellammare di Stabia with an international flavor, which will welcome fans of the film industry and the sports world.

The festival also enjoys the moral patronage of CONI Regione Campania and UISP Naples, elements that make the organization happy and proud and that suggest that the project is highly appreciated. All this is confirmed by the fact that 73 cinematographic works by productions and directors from all over the world entered, with works of the highest cinematic level.

The works in competition came from many countries around the world: Italy 14, France 8, United Kingdom 8, United States 7, Australia 3, Austria 3, Germany 3, Poland 3, Spain 3, Czech Republic 2, Serbia 2, Switzerland 2, Turkey 2, Belgium 1, Bosnia and Herzegovina 1, Brazil 1, Canada 1, Chile 1, China 1, Finland 1, Hungary 1, Israel 1, Mexico 1, Réunion 1, San Marino 1, Ukraine 1.

The sportsmen involved are Francis Espositomultiple world rowing champion and Golden Collar for sporting merit, Salvatore Marescacurrent world champion in the rings discipline (men’s artistic gymnastics specialty), Angela ProcidaParalympic champion currently holder of the 200m freestyle world title, Joanna Aulettacurrently world weightlifting champion and we are in contact with other sportsmen.

The International Sport Film Festival is included in the Cinema Plan of the Campania Region and is sponsored by the Campania Region, the Campania Region Film Commisison, the Campania Region CONI and UISP Naples.
