International day against violence against women

November 25 is the day against violence against women. A scourge still too topical in France despite the measures taken by national authorities. Already more than 90 feminicides per companion or ex-companion have been recorded in 2022. Prevention is obviously a major and essential issue in our society.

This is why the city of Avignon is mobilizing to raise awareness and fight against all forms of physical or moral violence against women. Many actors work all year round to alert but also to support, help and guide the victims. I would like to mention a few associations that work daily on our territory: the CIDFF/family planning, Amnesty International, Solidarity Women, RHESO, Dare Feminism. Also, we gave them carte blanche to offer activities around the day of November 25: debates, conference, fashion show, show, film screenings, exhibitions… and of course a big march against violence against women on Saturday November 19.

This is a subject that concerns all of us.
