Roma Lazio Film Commission at the 75th edition of the Cannes Film Festival

Roma Lazio Film Commission is at the 75th edition of the Cannes Film Festival with international initiatives and activities to promote the territory and resources of Lazio. On May 20 Roma Lazio Film Commission will be partner of EPC- European Producers Club in the meeting dedicated to international networking among audiovisual producers.

The second edition of Crossing Script will be presented on May 21, an initiative created in collaboration between the Roma Lazio Film Commission and the Israel Cinema Project – Rabinovich Foundation dedicated to the development of screenplays set in the territories of Lazio and Israel. Present will be Luciano Sovena, President of Rome Lazio Film Commission, Yoav Abramovich, General Director Israel Cinema Project – Rabinovich Foundation, Cristina Priarone General Director Rome Lazio Film Commission, Osnat Bukofzer, Director of International Affairs and co-productions, Israel Cinema Project – Rabinovich Foundation.

The meeting “Rome – Kyiv: Development and opportunities” will be held on 22 May at the Italian Pavillion, dedicated to the development of collaborations with the Ukrainian audiovisual sector, the creation of creative residences for Ukrainian talents in the Lazio region and the birth of common opportunities between Roma Lazio Film Commission and Ukrainian State Film Agency and MPA Ukrainian. Present will be Luciano Sovena, President of Roma Lazio Film Commission, Maryna Kuderchuk – Head Ukrainian State Film Agency, Victoria Yarmoshchuk – Executive director Ukrainian Motion Picture Association, Roma Lazio Film Commission promotes the locations and operators of Lazio as part of the Cannes Film Festival, attracting international productions with meetings and networking and giving life to the development of international co-production projects.

This year there are three titles at the Cannes Film Festival supported by the Lazio Region: “Nostalgia” by Mario Martone, in competition – a co-production between France and Italy created by Picomedia, Mad Entertainment, Medusa Film, Rosebud Entertainment Pictures, with the support of the Lazio Region – Lazio Cine International 2021; “Marcel!” by Jasmine Trinca, in the Special Screenings section – a co-production between France and Italy created by Cinemaundici and Totem Atelier with Rai Cinema in collaboration with Phon Films, with the support of the Lazio Region – Lazio Cine International 2021; “Night Effect” by Marco Bellocchio, in the Premiére Section, TV series produced in co-production between France and Italy by Rai, The Apartment, Kavac Film, in collaboration with Rai Fiction, in co-production with Arte France. Among the activities of IFC Italian Film Commissions, network of Italian Film Commissions chaired by Cristina Priarone, dir. gen. Roma Lazio Film Commission, it should be noted that on May 20, at the Italian Pavilion, the MoU will be signed with the British Film Commission, a collaboration agreement aimed at encouraging the development of initiatives and projects between the English and Italian Film Commissions , with the participation of Adrian Wootton OBE, Chief Executive British Film Commission.

“Cappuccino with the Italians”, an appointment of the Italian Film Commissions in the main international markets, will be held on 21 May at the Italian Pavilion to encourage opportunities for co-production and the development of projects between Italian and foreign producers. This year the Netherlands and France will be guests with institutional representatives such as Ilse Ronteltap Head of International The Netherlands Filmfund, Bas Van der Ree, Netherlands Film Commission, Mathieu Ripka Head of Film France CNC French Film Commission.

Roma Lazio Film Commission and IFC Italian Film Commissions are present in Cannes at the Italian Pavilion set up in the spaces of the Hotel Majestic.
