Solidarios deals this Sunday with the solidarity testament

“Solidarity” opens this Sunday the contents of its program talking about “joint willLeaving the inheritance or part of it to social organizations is an increasingly widespread practice in Andalusia. At Solidarios we have spoken with people who have made a solidarity will, some without direct heirs have preferred to leave their intentions in writing. They have social concerns and they bet because their money or their assets are dedicated to alleviating the needs of those who need it.

We have also spoken with officials from the Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders, WWF Spain and Manos Unidas who explained the process that must be followed until a test is made in favor of these organizations and how the practice is increasingly taken into account by Andalusians .

Making a solidarity will is a way of contributing to many people having opportunities, so that boys and girls have the possibility of a future, so that older people are not alone, to protect and help a woman who is a victim of gender violence or to contribute resources for vulnerable people. Also to contribute to the protection of nature and the environment.

More than 20 NGOs have been developing in Spain since 2006 the campaign in favor of this initiative.

The mental health of children and adolescents
Together with UNICEF, we commemorate Children’s Day that is celebrated this Sunday with an alert call on the mental health of children and adolescents. The figures prove him right, 1 in 7 children suffer from mental problems and suicides have doubled with the pandemic in children under 14 years of age.

Maribel Martínez Viamonte, Coordinator of Unicef in Andalusia, tells us that the priority is to fulfill the rights of children in the world and among those rights is Mental Health. She wants to attract attention, to involve all those who, in one way or another, have to do with the life course of children.

Put the focus on mental health so that it stops being a stigma, increase investment and the number of professionals, both specialists and primary care. If we talk about disadvantaged countries, this situation is noticeably more serious.

In Andalusia, Unicef proposes that a specific plan for the mental health of children and adolescents be included in the Health Strategy that will be approved shortly.

The example of Arroyomolinos de León
We return to Arroyomolinos de León, in Huelva. The roofs of the Virgen de los Remedios College have been converted into a large photovoltaic plant. The school energy project is already a reality. After their promoters began to raise funds a year ago to install them, today, these panels not only generate energy, they also illuminate a different and more democratic model of relating to our natural and human environment.

The Muti Association is the promoter of the La energía del cole project. He has reached an agreement with the Arroyomolinos de León City Council, several companies in the area and, of course, the school community. It is from the latter that the idea of taking advantage of the money derived from savings on the electricity bill with an educational program to reduce energy consumption through good practices began. That program later became the winning project of the ideas contest on renewable energy and the fight against energy poverty convened by Greenpeace in 2020.

The boys and girls in the last years of primary education have been authentic activists against climate change and in favor of habits that combat it. Solidarios has accompanied them on this journey until they have managed to make a rural public school the key and the engine of real change.

Broadcast date: Sunday, November 20, starting at 9:30 a.m., on Canal Sur Televisión.
