Students talk about science with art, throughout Italy – Scholarships to the 24 awarded students –

Second, third and fourth year students of secondary schools are invited to register for the 2022-2024 edition of the Art & Science Across Italy project, which since the first edition of 2016 brings scientific research to schools and which has so far involved more than 10,000 young people from all over Italy.

The Art & Science Across Italy project, organized by the National Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN) in collaboration with CERN, aims to involve girls and boys in the world of scientific research, combining the languages ​​of science with those of art and meeting different individual attitudes and interests.

The project takes place over two school years and includes three phases: the first is a training phase in which seminars, workshops and visits to museums and laboratories are organized; the second phase involves the realization by students of artistic works inspired by the scientific topics covered in the lessons; finally, the works created are exhibited and awarded in regional exhibitions and the most significant are collected in the national exhibition, the final event of each edition.

In the national exhibition a jury of experts draws up a ranking and the eight winning groups (24 students) receive a scholarship, established thanks to the contribution of Radio Kiss Kiss, which is also a media partner of the project, to participate in a master on the relationship between art and science at CERN in Geneva and / or the INFN laboratories in Italy. The meetings of the training phase and the exhibitions are organized locally at the regional level by the INFN Sections and by the reference Universities. In particular, the branches of Bari, Biella, Bologna, Cagliari, Ferrara, Florence, Frascati, Genoa, L’Aquila, Lecce, Matera, Milan, Naples, Padua, Perugia, Pisa, Potenza, Rome adhere to the 2022-2024 edition. , Turin, Trieste, and Venice.

All Italian schools can register by the end of October through the portal by choosing one of the cities of reference.

It will start at the end of November 2022 with a series of four online seminars at national level that will kick off many local activities at schools, INFN laboratories and universities involved. Seminars, visits to museums and scientific laboratories, meetings with scientists and artists, film and documentary screenings and other activities will take place in the period between December 2022 and May 2023, when the creative phase of the project will open during which the students, divided into groups, will work on their work to tell the science.

From this year, Radio Kiss Kiss is the official radio of the Art & Science Across Italy project.
