The Delibes Foundation is already working on the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the publication of “El hereje”, the monumental work of Miguel Delibes with which he wanted to pay homage to his hometown. Thus, as the director of the Foundation, Fernando Zamácola, anticipated, various activities will be carried out, such as a great commemorative exhibition, curated by Mario Crespo, as well as a route through the Valladolid province with the places mentioned in the work and that will be incorporated into the six already existing by the Diputación.
The institution, facing this course, offers a cultural program with new proposals aimed at all audiences, together with those already consolidated, such as the literary and educational exhibitions (“Miguel Delibes illustrator. The drawings of El camino” and the adaptation of “Common homeland. Delibes illustrated”); the cycle of journalistic meetings “Chroniclers of the 21st century” (which will feature as guests Fernando Ónega [19 de octubre] and Berna Gonzalez Harbor [22 de noviembre]); participation in the HAY Festival with Carme Riera; the “V Day of Hunting, Fishing and Nature. The hare in the Iberian Peninsula” (in collaboration with Restaurante Lera, on September 26 in Castroverde de Campos) and the II Miguel Delibes International Congress of Journalism (October 7 in the Miguel Delibes Auditorium).
But there will also be attractive novelties such as the premiere at the beginning of October of the “The Voices of Delibes” program on L8 TV Valladolid, from Radio Television Castilla y León; the launch of the school programming for the 2022-2023 academic year (“Write a letter to Delibes”, “Delibes in the classroom”, Escape room Delibes and children’s workshops); the “Conferences of archives and literary legacies” (Círculo de Recreo de Valladolid, October 6, 7 and 8); the “Shared Memories” project (first intergenerational meeting on October 17 in Molledo (Cantabria), in collaboration with Caixabank and the opening of the exhibition “Beyond novels. Delibes, cinema and theater” (October 14 to December 11).
Another of the strong bets of the Miguel Delibes Foundation for this season is the relaunch of Club Delibes, an initiative promoted in 2020 with the aim that both companies and individuals can financially support the activities of the Valladolid institution and contribute to fulfilling our founding goals. Through the foundation’s website you can access a specific section that informs about the benefits and modalities of participation in the club and also the entire section for buying souvenirs.
Finally, a new didactic exhibition will be designed dedicated to the book my life outdoors”; A project to restore Delibes’s manuscripts will be launched and the Delibes digital dictionary will be made available on our website, with the writer’s terms collected by the authors Jorge Urdiales and Luciano López in different publications on the matter
