The Albacete Bar Association awards the Albacete Provincial Council

“Excited, very responsible, but also tremendously happy and proud”, the president of the Provincial Council of Albacete, Santiago Cabañero, has collected the distinction that the Illustrious College of Lawyers of Albacete (ICALBA) has given him, from his dean, Albino Escribano, in recognition of his support for the work carried out by the Office Shift.

It has been in the act held in the old Flour Factory of the capital in which, in addition to delivering these distinctions, tribute has been paid to the lawyers and lawyers who complete a professional career of 25 and 40 years; and the oath of those who have joined the College has been sworn in; and diplomas have been awarded. Protagonists, all of them and all of them, towards whom the provincial president has dedicated words of affection, congratulations and good wishes.

Cabañero explained that all his facets, “like Santi, as president of the Provincial Council, but also as a professional colleague and as a progressive”, coincide in “an unquestionable outstretched hand” to any alliances the College continues to propose to improve as a land of the hand of the Provincial Council and ICALBA itself.

‘Alliances, he has listed, of all kinds: through the transfer of spaces; also of culture, being the theater group of the School already a classic in the Encounter of Amateur Theater of Albacete and province that promotes the Diputación; but, above all, “alliances that mean progress in rights and access to them under equal conditions for all people, wherever they live and whatever their circumstances.”

In this sense, he has indicated his pride in serving the Provincial Council to promote and support the turn of the Office specialized in Disability, also offering the detailed and cutting-edge training that this requires in legal professionals. A commitment that, far from diminishing, will grow with a view to 2023 so that, as Cabañero himself advanced a few days ago, it will also support ICALBA in its desire to offer free quality prison assistance, “in favor of the prison advice they have Those people who are deprived of their liberty must have, as mandated by the Constitution, and so that you can do it, as you explained, taking into account issues as important as technology, mental health or labor rights in prison…”, he assured .

Acknowledgment with dedication

The provincial president has valued those more than 300 professionals who in the province of Albacete make a reality, through the Official Turn, the right to effective protection by providing legal assistance to those who, almost always due to lack of resources, are more vulnerable and finds enormous difficulties to litigate; “key professionals who, in this way, achieve (at least from the point of view of the right to defense), the equality of all before the Law and the protection of all under the law”

Hence, he has dedicated this recognition “to the men and women of the Professional Shift”, emphasizing that they are “the best face of the fundamental pillar of the Rule of Law, which is Justice”, and the embodiment of “that vocation” that one day many like him felt and that, day after day and facing all kinds of challenges and conditions, they continue to defend and assert themselves.

Dedication that has also been extended to Albino Escribano, for the work that he has been promoting at the head of ICALBA to, precisely, bring the work of this “essential guild” closer to society as a whole and, especially to, through training, improve the capacities of the professionals who have to ensure and have to be guarantors of the right of any person to legal protection with all the guarantees.
